Joshua Harker creates 3D printed skull trophies for Nike Risk Everything World Cup competition

A 3D printed skull? Yes, that’s right – that’s the shape of the new custom trophies for the winners of Nike’s Risk Everything competitions (an interactive football tournament housed inside a hi-tech arena). It takes place at Nike’s Phenom House in Rio de Janeiro, a festival that runs currently with the World Cup itself, that aims to celebrate the Brazilian culture, arts and football.
And of course, to created a trophy that represents the Risk Everything campaign, Nike chose the most renowned 3D printing artist, Joshua Harker. Harker is recognized worldwide for his style, symmetry and of course, for his passion for skulls. The result was of course, a 3D printed skull. To create the skulls, Joshua worked together with Shapeways over the course of two months to ensure printability and structural integrity, before getting the final approval from Nike.
“This trophy is sinister. Risk Everything? I want to see who has the balls to take him home.” – said former Arsenal defender Andre Santos. And you, what do you think about it?
