3D printing is changing a lot our way of living and the way we see and deal with the world around us – and this is just the beginning of a big historical revolution. Many areas developed thanks to 3D printing and for sure art is one of them as we already spoke here on the blog.

A great artist that is truly helping to improve the art world breaking the chains from the traditional concept of art is Joshua Harker. GC-Trader blog said that Joshua is the Spartacus of 3D printing revolution and we couldn’t agree more.

Joshua Harker 3D printingIn an interview by CG-Trader blog Joshua said “My art is about pushing the limits of form… an exploration into what can be made & how to accomplish it. A perfect storm of software, technology & materials engineering all came together that now allows me to create my work 3-dimensionally.”

And this sure defines Joshua work. Last week Joshua reached his goal on Kickstarter and a new great project is about to come up: soon Joshua will start building The Shogyo Mujo, a 30-feet high skull with 3D projections mapped on all sides. The Shogyo Mujo will be showcased on the playa for Caravansary 2014 and represents the first of the Three Marks of the Dharma, which states that All things are impermanent.

A collaborative work that brings together the vision of the great 3D artist Josh Harker and Bart Kresa, one of the world’s most respected, visually-engaging projection mappers.

Sounds great! We can’t wait to see this big skull live!
