3D printed coolness for your eyes
Summer is around the corner on the northern hemisphere, which means lots of sunshine, therefore lots of squinting with your eyes once you leave the safety of your room and decide to go outside. Except, if you have a pair of sunglasses. In case you don’t, it’s a perfect opportunity to print one yourself (uhm, yeah, it works with regular glasses too)!
User Aaron Porterfield made an amazingly thorough instructable about designing and modeling a frame and also about scanning your existing lenses so you can model the frame around it for perfect fit.
Youtuber MattCarl has also made an interesting attempt on creating a custom frame with his CraftBot. Check out his video about the designing and assembling process!
More interestingly, Jenny from New York created an algorithm for Blender that aids you in the designing process.
In case you don’t want to fiddle with modeling, or printing at home, just want to enjoy some 3d printed coolness on your head, you can order high quality custom designed models from Sodaconcept (see our featured picture above!), or send in some reference photos of your head to the guys at Boulton to receive a pair of glasses tailored to exactly fit the shape of your head.
